History
Emigration and Nostalgia
In 1947, Georges, together with his mother and brother, went back to Mexico to start a new life. Through hard work and the help of the almighty, he attained a very prominent position in business and social life. In 1958 he married Juliette Checa, the daughter of Don Pedro Checa and Doña Dora Saade, very prominent figures in the Mexican Lebanese society. In Juliette he found his soul mate, who shared his enthusiasm and love for Lebanon and his needy people.
The return and the Encounter
In 1971, he brought his mother to place the first stone of "Maria Aziz Vocational College" the building of which he financed, on a land exceeding fifty thousand square meters, offered by the municipality of Jezzine. The institution was established , through a common project with the Ministry of National Education. Today, after twenty-five years, it is still welcoming students from Jezzine and the neighbouring villages, eager to specialize in the various technical and vocational fields. The school is maintaining a high educational level and is continuously receiving top ranking in its category.
Children and grand children
Georges and Juliette were blessed with five children: Georges Jr, Ana Laura, Juan Carlos, Marie Juliette and Luis Alberto, who, in turn , gave birth to sixteen grand children, God blessed them all. In 1995 when he was able to come back to Lebanon, after the painful events that tore his country, he immediately acquired a house. Since then, he has been regularly visiting Lebanon with his children and grand children, instilling in their hearts his love for Lebanon and Jezzine.
